The 2011 tournament will transpire at the excellent Plainfield Country Club in Edison, New Jersey, created by noted golf course architect Donald Ross. The winner will leave with $ 1,350,000 out of a over all prize fund of $ 8,000,000. The Barclays recognized by be as a golf tournament on the PGA Tour. The tournament started in 1967 as the Westchester Classic. It was represented over at the Westchester Country Club in Westchester County, New York from 1967 to 2007. Introducing in 1976 it underwent a series of name sponsorships (detailed below) ; the name of the event has acquired to the degree that, since 1990, it no more contained the name of its host course or location. Like many such events that have undergone a series of name changes over the years, in the midst of golfers on the road and many lovers this became known by its real name, "The Westchester."
